These Terms of Use govern your use of the Rateweb website. By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Last updated: 19 July 2026.

1. What Rateweb is — and what it is not

Rateweb is an independent comparison and financial-education platform. We provide general information and tools to help you understand and compare financial products in Tanzania. We are not a licensed financial adviser, broker, deposit-taking institution, lender or insurer, and nothing on the site is personalised financial, investment, tax or legal advice. You are responsible for your own decisions. Before acting, confirm the current terms directly with the provider and, for anything significant, consider advice from a professional licensed by the relevant regulator (such as the Bank of Tanzania, the CMSA or TIRA).

2. Accuracy of information

We work hard to keep rates, fees and product details accurate and up to date, and we date our content so you can see when it was last reviewed. Even so, products and prices change constantly and errors can happen. Figures on Rateweb are a guide, not an offer — the shilling amounts, rates and terms that apply to you are those confirmed by the provider at the time you apply. We do not warrant that the information is complete, current or error-free, and we accept no liability for decisions made in reliance on it. If you spot a mistake, please tell us.

The site links to third-party websites and providers. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, products, terms or privacy practices. Any dealing you have with a provider — including opening an account, borrowing, trading or buying insurance — is between you and that provider, on their terms. Financial products carry risk; borrowing, forex and crypto trading and investing can all lose you money.

4. How we make money

Rateweb may earn a commission when you click through to some partners and take up a product. This never affects the price you pay or where a product ranks. See our advertising disclosure and how we make money for the full explanation.

5. Acceptable use

You agree to use the site lawfully and not to: interfere with or disrupt the site or its security; attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of it; scrape, copy or republish our content at scale without permission; or use the site to break the law or infringe anyone's rights.

6. Your account

If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity under your account. You may close your account and export or delete your data at any time from your dashboard's privacy settings, as described in our privacy policy.

7. Intellectual property

The content on Rateweb — text, ratings, design and branding — belongs to Rateweb or its licensors and is protected by law. You may read and share links to it for personal, non-commercial use, but you may not copy, reproduce or republish it commercially without our written permission.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Rateweb is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site or your reliance on any information on it, including any financial loss from a product or provider you find through the site. The site is provided "as is" and "as available".

9. Changes

We may update the site and these terms from time to time. Changes take effect when posted, and the "last updated" date above will change. Continuing to use the site means you accept the current terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania, and any dispute relating to them is subject to the jurisdiction of the Tanzanian courts.
